Therapeutic Response Over Classification

Rather than memorising the full diagnostic criteria for each disorder, SGPGI more often tests the correct therapeutic response to a patient scenario: prioritise that skill over classification detail, since scenario-response questions require applied judgment rather than simple recall.

Defense Mechanisms, the Standard Way

Defense mechanisms are tested using the same approach as other nursing exams: learn each with a clear example rather than a bare definition, so that an unfamiliar scenario in the question still maps clearly onto the mechanism it represents.
